Club Galas

ALL swimmers are encouraged to enter their age group swims (even if it is not their "favourite" stroke) and in some cases have the option to enter the age group above. It is a requirement of the swimming club that swimmers compete in at least  3 out of the 5 club galas each year (preferably all 5). Galas are an integral part of the training process giving swimmers experience of competition. Getting used to the starting system, starting blocks, finishing correctly and developing race tactics.  These are an essential step to competing away from the club and it also gives the Coaches the chance to identify elements of your swims which may need further work.

Gala competition also allows the club to gauge progress and record personal times which is essential when assessing teams and possible entries into other competitive events away from South Hunsley's own pool.

POOLSIDE ENTRIES ARE NOT ALLOWED......ENTRY FORMS ARE READILY AVAILABLE ON POOLSIDE SOME WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE GALA
