Swimmers Code of Conduct

The purpose of this document is to establish a set of guidelines and procedures, which outline the responsibilities and behaviour expected from members of South Hunsley Swimming Club.
It is expected that the principles of the Code of Conduct should be followed at all events and training sessions.
Swimmers are expected to:
  • Display a high standard of behaviour and personal conduct at all times in order to reflect favourably on the Club and the sport.
  • Respect the worth and dignity of other swimmers and behave without discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, language, religion, birth or social status.
  • Refrain from any form of bullying, verbal or physical. This behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Language should always be appropriate and socially acceptable.
  • Personal appearance should be appropriate to the circumstances, and at galas swimmers are expected to wear a Club hat and their Club T-shirt on the poolside.
  • Behave responsibly and participate fully during training sessions. Those who do not try, disrupt others or behave in an inappropriate manner will be asked to leave the session.
  • Listen carefully to the coaches at all times and observe their instructions.
  • Respect the authority of all officials and accept their decisions.
  • Show appropriate loyalty to the club. Support and encourage team members before, during and after their races at galas.
  • Treat other competitors and teams with respect, in victory and defeat.
  • Take care of equipment which is owned by the club.
  • It is important that any medication being currently taken should be brought to the attention of the Chief Coach.  For specific conditions e.g. asthma, inhalers should be on the poolside at all times.
  • The use of illegal and performance enhancing drugs and substances is strictly forbidden.
